The mission and purpose of IGEPC (The Interfaith Guild for Extra-Communal Professional Clergy) is as follows:
- To provide a credible, standards-based source for professional clergy who are not currently affiliated with the faith community in which they were ordained and/or are no longer eligible for standing as an ordained minister in said community or any community to which they have access, but continue to meet ethical and professional standards for general or specialized practice of ministry outside of a denominational setting.
- Specifically, this organization is created to serve former Catholic priests and sisters, previously ordained protestant clergy who have converted to Catholicism but wish to maintain professional orders and fulfill limited clerical roles outside of their Church, and anyone else who qualifies for recognition as professional clergy, ministers, and/or spiritual practitioners of various faiths or no faith, for service outside of a formal faith community and/or to independent, unaffiliated faith communities of any religion, and/or for service to organized faith communities with which the minister/pastor/spiritual professional chooses to remain unaffiliated.
In other words... - You are no longer affiliated with the ordaining body
- Your severance from the ordaining body is not the result of ethical or professional misconduct
- You are currently religiously unaffiliated or
-
You currently belong to a faith community in which you are not eligible
to practice ministry for theological or canonical reasons
- Or, you satisfy the criteria to serve in professional ministry but choose to do so outside of a particular faith tradition, denomination or communion
- And, you choose to be credentialed to perform extra-communal professional ministry
- You desire the standards-based endorsement of a reputable professional organization, to verify your qualifications to perform a highly specialized professional service.
I f this sounds like you, you've come to the right place. We are not an online ordination mill that promises free clergy orders for all comers. We are standards-based, and we are not free. And as usual, one gets what one pays for. Learn More
